ALPHAIR
has for many years offered products certified to a recognized quality
standard. ALPHAIR has moved with the times from Z 299, to ISO 9002-87
to ISO 9002-94 and finally to ISO 9001-2000. ALPHAIR gained its certification
to ISO 9001-2000 in August of 2002. The ISO certification includes control
over all functions including engineering practices. ALPHAIR has also
been certified to the Association of American Railroads (AAR) a North
American regulatory body controlling the manufacture of products used
in locomotives. ALPHAIR is audited every 6 months for compliance to
ISO 9001-2000 and is certified every three years to both ISO and its
AAR certification.

Quality
Manual
Should your company wish to receive a complete copy of our Quality Assurance Manual please contact the Quality Assurance Manager
All
fans are inspected throughout the process of manufacture as well as
final inspection. The fan wheel welds are inspected by various methods
as specified by the Customer and the ALPHAIR design group. The fan rotor
is dynamically balanced to the ISO 1940 G 6.3 or G 2.5 specification
for dynamic parts. Material test reports are reviewed for all material
and are available for all sales orders built in house at ALPHAIR.
Schedule
Control
ALPHAIR
plans all of its orders through our "Visual" ERP system. All
orders are reviewed by the Project Planning Manager prior to their release
to Engineering or Structures group. The Production Planning Manager
chairs the weekly production meetings ensure adherence to the customer
delivery expectations.
Engineering
Systems
ALPHAIR
has developed its own software for designing and selecting fans. These
programs allow the company to benefit in a consistent and time efficient
manner from past experience. Every custom fan is design checked prior
to manufacture to ensure that the design is appropriate to the customer
specifications. All custom fan rotors are checked via a Finite Element
Method. ALPHAIR uses in-house software and hardware to perform static,
dynamic and response analysis.
Drawings
are produced using 3D solid modeling software. Fan geometry is parametrically
defined in order to ensure accuracy and completeness. General Arrangement
drawings are available to customers upon request and can be transferred
electronically.
